HISTORY

Founding member Kevin Russell brings 707 forward into the it's 4th decade!

Originally signed to Neil Bogart's Casablanca Records(KISS, Donna Summer, Cher) and achieved significant rock radio success with "I Could Be Good for You," (from 707's debut record) which reached #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. "I Could Be Good For You" is featured in the recent block buster film "Grown Ups" starring Adam Sandler.

Next 707's Second Album featured the single "Strings Around My Heart" hitting the charts in the top 20.

During this period 707 toured the states extensively. Most notably with REO Speedwagon on their highly successful “Hi-In Fidelity Tour.” The REO & 707 was the hottest ticket to be had for 2 years running.

The band left Casablanca and signed with Boardwalk Records and recorded "Megaforce”

"Megaforce" (originally recorded as the theme to the motion picture Megaforce) Repeating their success once again by reaching #12 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock charts and rising to #25 on the Hot 100. Two short years later Ace Frehley's "Frehley's Comet" covered "Megaforce" making it a Rock Radio hit all over again!

Relocating to LA from the Detroit music scene Iin the mid 70's founding member Kevin Russell (an extremely gifted guitarist, songwriter and vocalist.) Kevin found fellow Detroiters Jim McClarty (songwriter / drummer) and Phil Bryant (a strong bass player with the big lead voice) that grabbed your attention with that famous song I Could Be Good For You”, and the beautiful ballad "One Way Highway"
Kevin introduced Phil & Jim to Duke McFadden (RIP) (the extremely talented songwriter, lead vocalist and pianist) who was living in Malibu (originally from Oregon)

These four who called themselves 707 ended up taking the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood scene by storm. Crowds lined up around the block every show to hear them play at The Starwwod. The Whiskey, The Roxy, The Troubadour, Madame Wongs, etc..
They had the ability to blow the roof off whatever venue they were in. When they played the Greek Theater (LA), the music shot straight to the stars. It was standing room only and to me it’s like it was yesterday, or maybe even tomorrow night, after all it was Magic!

707 played sold out theatre venues as well as stadiums and shared the bill with acts such as : REO Speedwagon, Styx, Ted Nugent, Loverboy, The Scorpions, Rainbow , John Melloncamp, 38. Special, Judas Priest ,The Outlaws, 10 Years After, The Michael Schenker Group ,Humble Pie,and the list goes on and on................707 was asked to join the"Monsters Of Rock Tour" which is responsible for the multi act shows of today..
